Phil Friedman

About

Phil Friedman was born in the former Soviet Union and immigrated to New York to join his

parents and his brother after working for 12 years in the electronics industry in the USSR. He

holds degrees in Engineering, Economics, and Finance, with further studies done in the United States in Information Systems.


In 1984 he founded Computer Generated Solutions, Inc. (CGS) and has led the company as

President and CEO for more than four decades. Under his leadership, the IT solutions firm has

diversified and grown into a global enterprise employing nearly 8,000 people, with customers in 50 countries. Phil now serves as Executive Chairman of CGS Group companies including BlueCherry by CGS, CGS Immersive, CGS Learning, and CGS Nexus.

Under his leadership, CGS earned accolades from Inc. Magazine, Deloitte, Crain's and Ernst & Young, which named him Entrepreneur of the Year.


Phil was also awarded the Ellis Island Medal of Honor and an honorary doctorate from Yeshiva University. He is married to Rose, and is the father of Alyx and Jeffrey, and the grandfather of Jolie, Lula and Rome.
