Squawk 7700

Squawk 7700 is the code that pilots tap into their transponders when they are in distress. It indicates a general emergency.

It could be due to a hijacking in progress, a mechanical problem, or a medical issue. It could also be because a passenger has just used explosive fuel to blow your plane out of control, and now on a fatal arc plunging to earth...

Squawk 7700 is a thriller novel about why those homicidal passengers are trying to bring down Air Atlantic jets. And it’s about the team that is doing everything it can to stop them.

The good guys are David Doyle, a 29-year-old investigator for the National Transportation and Safety Board’s special unit, the Onsite Site Forensic Investigation Team. His partner Sarah Hart is a 25-year-old finishing her third year of medical school at Boston College. The bad guys are led by Hassan, a Libyan psychiatrist whose family were killed by American bombs, and who has developed a diabolical plan to use human suicide bombers to blow planes out of the sky to get hundred of millions of dollars in blood money.

So far the bad guys have brought down two airliners and killed hundreds of people. As Dave and Sarah race against the clock to stop them, they also fall in love, so Squawk 7700 tells the story of their developing romance amidst this global crime-in-progress.

Fast paced and inventive, with compelling characters in great jeopardy, Squawk 7700 offers the thriller genre a new take on terror, one which will have the reader turning the pages to see if Dave and Sarah can save themselves-- and many others. Or if it all goes down in flames…
